DAY 197
Sunday October 14th
Cleveland, OH to Pittsburgh, PA
Today is a rest day in the Boston v Cleveland series, so I drive the 140 miles to Pittsburgh to spend the day with my old friends Steve and Liz. If you don't know by now who they are, you really haven't been paying attention.
The day is autumnally sunny, the drive is very straightforward, and I'm here by 12.30. We watch some TV, take a long walk along a disused railway line, eat a wonderful home cooked dinner, and spend the evening trying to stay awake. Thrill seekers, it's your day off!
While answering some e-mails, I read an article, sent to me by a friend in England, about the Colorado Rockies. Apparently, their owner, general manager and team manager, along with some of the players, are born again Christians. The club actively recruits Christian players, who are encouraged to attend chapel on Sunday and prayer meetings on Tuesday. |
